An ordinary & a NOT so ordinary day!

A typical day at Grandmas house:

Waking up early to help Grandma in the yard.

Getting dirty is just a bonus...

Finding way to beat the heat by swimming or another fun water activity!

It has been fun to try to keep these little boys busy & happy in this Arizona heat!

Now onto our NOT so ordinary days:
#1
A trip to Bashas taught an interesting lesson.  I walk in with my three lovely children in hopes to place them in Cub Care (Like Kroger's Hugsie Land).  I noticed a sign saying "If you need me page me".  I think "hmmmm by the time I page the lady I could be finished shopping".  So I grab a cart and place Blake in when he notices a Diego just like his and starts screaming for it.   Then crying (oh! and don't forget the nice bouncy ball display that he needed one of too).  So as I scramble to grab my little stinker whatever he is pointing at and screaming for in order to keep the peace I notice Austin and Chase have found themselves on the floor completing a wrestling match.  As I turn around to get after them and guess what my cart runs into?  A nice display of glass bottles of beer (placed strategically in front of Cub Care) and I watch in horror as they hit the ground.  Now the beer is all over the floor and nearing my children who are still wrestling on the ground.  I rush to get them up and just then Austin puts his finger in it and then tastes it.
I learned what the phrase "Out of control" truly means.  And to think this awesome mom (me) who has everything under control will be adding another child to her family.

Lesson learned: Austin has mentioned now a couple of times "Mom why would people drink that stuff.  It is so disgusting.  It tastes like barf and poop and every other gross thing in the world.  Plaaaaahhhh.  If I think about it I will puke."  Hopefully Austin remembers this when he is tempted to break the WofW later in his life.  (You never know! Besides there has to be something good that comes from that nightmare).

#2
The very next day I take my chances with my children entering another store... this time Super Target.  I need a few things for Chase for preschool so after the gym my happy family heads there.  Things are going great.  I get the items needed and we are headed down the aisle for our check out. Just then Chase takes off down one of the infant aisles.  I panic and am running as quick as the cart will allow and sacrifice Austin and plead him to try to Chase after him.  I catch up with Austin and Chase is no where to be found.  We look and look and finally about after 7 minutes I start to panic.  I say about a million prayers and we contact a Target worker.  They issue a "code yellow" and shut down the store.  Workers were looking for him as well as other kind shoppers.  We are all yelling his name.  I am in tears and have in my mind my little guy is 15 minutes towards Mexico with some stranger.  Just then, Austin yells "I found him".  He was hiding inbetween two boxes of stroller/car seats the entire time.  I wanted to yell at him and ask him why he didn't answer, but all I could do was hug him.

Lesson learned:   I am the worst mom in America.  I am sure in the other countries there has to be someone equally as out of control. (At least that is what I tell myself to make me feel better).
