Austin had his first day of 1rst grade today and for some reason it was so hard for me to let him go. Why was this so much harder for me than even kindergarten? We went to back to school night, met his teacher, found his classroom, etc so it wouldn't be hard, but it still was. Oh well! I know he will do wonderfully today, it is just hard because everything is so unfamiliar for him for me. It was nice to wake up and have our routine school schedule again. Something feels safe about scheduling and routines. Anyway, I guess whether I like it or not Austin (and the rest of my kids) will just keep growing up, getting bigger, and become independent. That is the goal... but it kinda hurts a little. Hope all your kiddos have, had, or will have a great first day!
