New Years and goals...

Okay I know I am behind in posting these, but here is a glance at our New Year's Eve. We had a small party with the our boys and their cousins which included: poppers, the random scream of "happy new year", favorite candies, and a new movie to watch. They had fun and settled down to fall asleep strewn about across the floor while their movie blared in the background. Once we felt like decent parents for including our children on this fun Holiday, the adults went out to eat at PF Changs. We had a ton of fun and laughed the night away. It was so fun ringing in the New Year with our fam... love you guys!

On to goals... Okay anyone that knows me knows I am OCD. That being said... I do have some new years resolutions. Well, a little more than some. This should surprise no one. Since growing up I had goals, quotes, and to do's posted on every mirror in my room and bathroom. I think I am the real life female version of Stuart Smalley and Steven Covey combined. And not in a good way. Oh well! Here are a few tangible goals I feel should be easy to implement this year (and I can add them to the 50 that are currently hanging on my mirror :) ):
1- Pick one game night a week (aside from FHE) where we play a game as a family. This could be a board game, a tramp game, a ball game, etc. (Usually when we play games it is usually one on one with Chase or Austin, or Dave and the boys or me and the boys, you get the idea.) Doing it as a whole family will be fun. This should help us work on our cooperating skills and work on the boys ability to be a good sport (okay and Mom's too). I like the idea of an excuse to sit down and have fun together :) This could possibly turn into a fun tradition?
2- Start personal interviews with the kids the first Sunday of every month (again!). We have started this and failed a few times. The kids should be old enough now to set goals for the month, talk about their friends, school, frustrations, and things that make them happy. Hopefully this will facilitate a relationship with us where they are use to talking with and sharing thing with us. Here goes another try at it....
3- Find at least one person to write a thank you note to every week. Who doesn't love getting a personal note in the mail? This will force me to recognize the people that are blessing my life and help me feel a sense gratitude for those that surround me!
4- Intangible always on my list goals: Be a better mom & wife, get more organized, work out more, ( blah blah blah). I know what I need to do so I won't bore you with personal details. Just know they ARE on my list :)
